|About the Book|
DNF 64%I would’ve put Mercy down sooner, but I was at my grandmother’s for a couple days with nothing but this book, and I didn’t have anything else to read. Now that I’m home again, I don’t have to put up with this anymore. I can’t read another word of this book. I do not want to read in detail about how some asshole cheats on his wife and doesn’t even feel sorry.Cameron MacDonald should get the award for Worst Husband Ever. He has been married to his Allie for five years, but he doesn’t appreciate her at all. While she goes out of her way to make his life as uncomplicated as possible (she all but feeds him), he tunes her out while she’s talking and fantasises about places he’d rather be. When he’s with Allie, he’s always thinking of being somewhere else. He doesn’t love her entirely and barely responds to her advances. Then he meets Mia, Allie’s new assistant – who has such good hearing that she can hear the moon move through the night. And I have to endure the entire story of how they get together behind Allie’s back. While Allie is working on his case (he’s the town’s police chief), he’s shagging Mia. While Allie is waiting for him at home, feeling sorry for him ‘cause he has to work double shifts, he’s shagging Mia. When he’s making love to Allie, in his head he’s shagging Mia. When his mother catches him shagging Mia, he wants to strangle his mother. Like she’s the bad guy. Honestly. And finally, when he does buy Allie a gift to ease his conscience, he buys an item because the colour reminds him of Mias eyes.Cam, if I was your wife, I would have you out on the streets faster than you could say ‘you bloody fucktard’. And yes, the first chapter was of a woman selling her husband’s things, so that must be Allie after having discovered Cam’s unfaithfulness, and I applaud her. But I honestly don’t have the patience to wait for that. Cam is a fucksicle and I refuse to spend one more page on his sorry ass.
